Located in the Hamlet of Thorhild in North-Central Alberta (100km north east of Edmonton). Thorhild Central School serves approximately 340 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Freddy's Lunchbox is also open daily offering healthy snacks and delicious meals for staff and students. A Great Beginnings Program (Pre-Kindergarten) and a daycare are also housed within Thorhild Central School.
Academics is a strong focus at Thorhild Central School. We proudly offer the full suite of Grade 12 Courses required for graduation and post-secondary success. In addition, our diverse Career and Technology Studies program is able to offer courses in Foods, Art, Drama, Outdoor Education, Fitness, Carpentry, Mechanics, Robotics, Registered Apprenticeship Program, Work Experience and the Green Certificate.
Thorhild Central School has diverse extracurricular activities for students of all ages. Students will often be found enjoying classic clubs such as volleyball, basketball, badminton, archery and track and field. Students looking for an activity other than athletics can get involved in the Drama Fest Competition team, Outdoor Education trips, Robotics, Drawing/Comic Book club or our music club.
